Relaxing Sunday

Ok was challenged to come in and say hi - HI!!!! I've been relaxed most of the weekend with no major plans except dinner out Friday night. Gotta do some school stuff today and start the garage cleanout so I can FINALLY park in it! Also want to do some scrapbooking challenges...thought I'd share one I did using words from a song and about a big moment for me - my first day as a teacher 3 years ago.....used a fun kit called Study Hall......from Oscraps I believe....who knows what movie I was thinking of when I did the title?
Well that's about it from me today.....

Wednesday crazies

Something in the air today but today I had girl troubles - some conflicts at class that I'm not used to seeing.....I hope I handled each issue well - they seemed to be better by day's end. I think they are still working through how to communicate with others especially when personality types are similar!

I'm waiting for snow! Forecast is maybe tonight and tomorrow - it's been WEEKS since we had any (before Christmas) and then not much. Do I want a snow day? Well it would be relaxing I suppose, but then I'd be behind where my plans want me to be.....so it's a tossup!

Last night I had about 2 3/4 lbs of ground beef (fresh Hereford) to do something with and I actually browned it all up and made some into spaghetti sauce and the rest taco meat - it's not often I prep for two meals, so I was proud! I have absolutely NOTHING else I need for taco night tho, so that's in the freezer for now! I also got caught up on clean laundry (well mostly) so I'm doing better on not being a slug at night at least this week!

New health choices - getting there - I've limited my pop/soda/Coke consumption to once a week at school and a few nights a week - am on 100% juice, water, milk most of the time. I cut back on hot chocolate too - think I was getting too many calories from that each day! It's the darn sweets - they are almost out of the house from the holidays (why do people give me candy when they can see I don't need it? Guess because they know I like it so! Sigh........hehe)

Inspiring song

I uploaded a new song/video here the other night. It's a new one by Montgomery Gentry - one of my favorite country bands! It's all about how people can make changes in their lives...thought it was neat for starting the new year. The song deals with major issues (racism and alcoholism) but I think it could apply to the small things we'd love to change or hope those we love could change. I just wanted to put it out here because I really like it and hope it inspires me in the little changes I wanna make!

Unfortunately I don't know how to make it fit in my sidebar of this new template - guess the sidebar is too skinny - it's so hard to find the right place in the template to put these......will take any advice on that! Ooh i gotta get my scrolling page thingy on here too - but I can't remember where to insert the code for it either! Help!

It's Friday and I'm ready to relax - of course I am going into school this weekend - but that's to really get cleaned up and organized.....which will make me feel less stressed come Monday so it's ok. I hope to get some scrapbooking in too tho!

Happy New Year

Well, here it is another year and another set of goals. If I look back on 2006 I can say I did a lot, learned a lot, prayed a lot, played a lot, but didn't get pregnant........lol! So all in all a good year and I did become an aunt!!!!!
This year I have goals of course but I know to be realistic I gotta trim them and be very specific.....I won't list them completely but I plan to:
work on improving my health and fitness with my husband
improve my skills as a teacher and stay caught up more with grading
scrap more, spend less, and stay organized
make more gifts to give to people - will help with budget
follow our new budget much more carefully
save for a vacation this summer
So that's the plan at least! Maybe putting them in this blog will help!
I'll leave you with one pic from my trip to the Oregon Coast after Christmas - it was amazingly windy one day and the surf was awesome!
