Still icky!

Well I look positively dreadful! Fortunately (well not really) my computer is not reading my camera so I can't share a picture of sick me! Haha - I was feeling a bit better earlier - cheered myself by taking my Michaels coupon to the LSS and then I went in to work to finish my plans for the week (and leave sub plans for tomorrow morning as I KNOW I need one more good night's sleep, but I don't like taking more time off than absolutely necessary!)...when I came home I declined quickly back into stuffy head and fever along with coughing which HURTS as my muscles are sore! WHINE WHINE WHINE!

Pity party over...let's see - I can share another scrapbook page - I haven't done much in awhile since I've been sick but I can share an older one...anywho - this is my DH and the cutest dog ever - our yellow lab Missy! I had a challenge to do a page using the colors of the Olympic rings - had fun with this as I like the linear look! I love these stickers from Autumn Leaves too!

Sick!!!!!!!!!!

It's the life of a teacher! Constantly exposed to germs...and it's only my second year so I haven't built up enough immunities yet.....gotta bad chest cold! Add that to taking an antibiotic after my root canal and I'm not having fun this long weekend!!!!! I can't even get motivated to scrapbook! I have tons of grading but blah.....guess I should buck up and do SOMETHING! I hate being sick - and it's been VERY cold the last few days - I haven't left the house in the last two days!

So today's blog just happens to be a whine session - I know people going through a lot worse right now, but we all get weak and just need to vent about our own stuff sometimes.....having gone through A LOT WORSE, I still believe this is an ok thing to do once in awhile..NOT all the time tho!

I've been tagged!

Ok, I'm so not sure what to do other then I guess I post my answers here and list more names below.....if I'm wrong, someone let me know!

WHAT SCRAPBOOK LINES/PRODUCT ETC. DO YOU DISLIKE? I never liked leather on pages - just seems so unsafe. As for lines, 7gypsies and Rusty Pickle just never did it for me, although there are some pieces in each that I really like - I think it's just a style thing, not a quality thing!
WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU EVER HAD TO SCRAP? I'm still working on it; an album for my daughter who passed away just about 4 years ago...I've started and done some good pages, but I freeze up as I want it perfect.
WHAT TECHNIQUE DO YOU USE MORE THAN ANYTHING? Using strips of patterned paper; I love adding a little pattern to almost every page
WHAT'S THE SMALLEST SCRAP OF PAPER YOU SAVE? It has to be big enough to be able to at least use a punch on.
EVER HAD ANY SCRAPBOOKING RELATED INJURIES? Paper cuts; dropped a large punch on my foot...silly things!!
FINISH THIS SENTENCE: "IF I WASN'T A SCRAPBOOKER/STAMPER, I WOULD SPEND MY MONEY ON..." books, cds and movies!!
GIVE US YOUR BEST STORAGE OR ORGANIZATIONAL IDEA: Label everything; sort by type or color...
YOU JUST WON A WEEK LONG SCRAPBOOKING CRUISE FOR 5, WHO IS GOING WITH YOU? I'd take my friend Emily, who I've traveled to CKU with several times now, my mom and SIL so they'll finally get the urge to scrap, and my cousin and her daughter who does scrap - I have lots of online friends I'd LOVE to take if I could take more than 4!

Ok, so I'm tagging Rachel, Abby, Emily, and well, I'd do more but I lost my favorites with a computer purge this week - argh!!!!

Scrapping hangouts

I find myself spending lots of time on online scrapbooking message boards and I do feel it may keep me from scrapping to some extent. HOWEVER, they do also motivate me and help me discover new techniques and ideas. So I think the benefits make it worth it. The site I spend the most time on is www.scrapbookjungle.com - I am on the design team and we are constantly putting ideas out - each one of us shares a challenge or two each month so every day a new challenge arrives. Plus we have Club 365 - which is we are all trying to do 365 layouts in one year - some people are well on track and others (me included) are behind - but I like keeping track of my layouts and having a goal to try to reach! I love how this site has beginner up to advanced and published scrappers and all levels are encouraged to share their work!

I am administrator on another site www.ssreflections.com/forums - I was a designer for this ezine for a long time before my school life caught up with me, but with the forums I still can play a part. We are small, but working on some fun things to help bring in more members! The focus is on scrapping, stamping, and altered arts, as is the ezine www.ssreflections.com If you stop in and register at either site, make sure to say hi and mention you actually read this blog! I'm just curious as to who does read this! Another favorite is www.treasurestoscrap.com - I know a lot of people on this site, and it's just fun to hang out without being in charge - I can join in contests, etc, for example! They have some talented ladies and their gallery is full of great ideas!

Think I'll do some scrapping this afternoon; it's sunny (but cold) so I'll open my blinds and enjoy the day a bit - yesterday we finished the flooring in our bedroom and put the closet mirrored sliders back on - the room "looks" huge now! I'll share pics of the floor; my parents gave us leftovers from their new house and this flooring is VERY pricey, but beautiful - it's called Bellawood......we only have it in our master bedroom; the others have cheap laminate that looks like wood (but not near as nice).....it works for us!

Root canal

UGH - am looking NOT SO forward to having a root canal tomorrow - first thing in the morning no less! I took a full sick day because I knew I'd be sore and not talking too well afterwards! I've had them before and they aren't near as bad as people make them out to be, but they aren't fun either! Having a good dentist does help.....

Am making up a few things for Valentines Day - here's one card I made - may want to tweak it a bit; still I think it looks better live than this picture (taken sideways doesn't help!) - but ya gotta love these colors.....think I'll grab some sketches to make a few more cards... will add more later!

It's over....

I'm pretty sad right now for my Seahawks, but they sure gave it a good try - I sure hope they've finally earned some respect from the east coast! They certainly didn't have it easy - some REALLY bad officiating was going on...and even the announcers agreed on several bad calls - all going against us - now I won't pin our loss on that entirely but it did help deflate the team and made and impact on yards.....the biggest problems I saw were the huge amount of penalties we'd get, shooting ourselves in the foot - but a few of those were unfair! So it was a good game and very close until the last quarter, but I would like to have seen quality officiating at the biggest game of the year - sure mistakes are made, but in this case there was a chance to rectify one that wasn't.....oh well, Pittsburgh was very good in most areas and when they got the momentum it sure helped having a biased crowd in Detroit! Season's over, time to drop football talk til fall......I'm emotionally drained! DH and I took a walk just to calm our nerves and frustration - it did wonders!

Tomorrow is the big game!

Am starting to get nervous now! Tomorrow is when my Seahawks can show the world what kind of team they are! I hope they do well - well, I hope they win, but so many things can happen in a game, I'm not going to boast that they will! If we weren't in the game I might cheer for the Steelers (one of their players owns a restaurant here) but I just can't do it! Here's hoping for a good quality game!

Go Seahawks!!!!!!

Ok, it's a few days from the Superbowl and my excitement level is rising! I bought myself a Matt Hasselback jersey and a 12th fan tshirt for my husband today - getting ready to party on Seahawk Drive on Sunday! Am also wearing to school on Friday as we're having a "Support the Hawks and wear green or blue" day on Friday! I'll be getting pictures and scrapping all the lead up to the big game! I hope hope hope we win, although I'm just tickled to finally see my team there! But I won't boast a win is imminent, as anything can happen - I just know that we COULD win if all factors go in our favor! Been cheering this team since I went to college at the U of Wa starting in 1986, so this is a long wait! Longer for those who've been with them since the beginning tho! Anyway, here's hoping for a great game, a Seahawk victory, and lots of good ads!!!!!
