I should've posted this sooner but I've been blog lazy (or blazy? lol) lately! On Tuesday night as we were laying in bed, I felt Jr. give me a nice kick - I had felt flutters but discounted them as wishful thinking, but this was not!!!!! I said "ooh!" and Jeff asked "WHAT?" and I told him - soon he will feel them too at this rate! Since then I've felt a few bigger kick/pushes a day and some smaller flips and turns or something in there! It's the BEST part of pregnancy and has really lifted my spirits after a summer of feeling icky! So now my hands are near my belly quite often, hoping to feel more! Guess I should be patient.
It's a wonderful feeling knowing there's a little living person in there - anywhere I go now, I know I'm not alone......so I'm talking or singing to baby Scott a lot now!
Friday I went up to Spokane to hang out with June, one of my dearest friends from back in school.....we had a nice time visiting and just driving around town shopping, etc.....was a teeny version of a vacation, but at least I was out of town for a night!
Tomorrow I start almost full time back to school prepping for the new school year. As always I'm excited about the new year and all that it brings.
Guess that's it for me this time! Check out my ticker, I love what it says each week as I move on!

Almost didn't make it
Just squeezing in today's topic before it's tomorrow! LOL
Favorite indulgence - oh it's sad but I have so many.....really it could be anything as long as it's chocolate........I do enjoy the rare times when I get mini Dove chocolates oh and the best was when my brother and SIL brought back chocolates from their honeymoon in Belgium!!! So chocolate anything is fabulous - my all time favorite candy bar is the Snickers - just love it.......followed by Kit Kat (always gotta sing along: gimme a break......) and the 100 Grand bars......mmmmmmmmmmmm - sadly since I've been pregnant, I haven't wanted chocolate so much - or maybe that's a good thing!
As for other things - not much going on. Started working in my classroom this week; mostly tossing stuff and organizing supplies....will get more serious next week! I do need to find more helpers than just my mom to help hang my bulletin boards - gotta ask around on that one!
Well it's late am signing off to watch some old MASH reruns!

Today's topic
Ok today I chose the topic of childhood friends.....I have one friend I met in Mississippi in 8th grade when we were both new to town and on the same bus. Her name is Anna and we spent the following summer sleeping over at each other's houses almost every night and walking to the neighborhood pool each day - we both slimmed down and turned into teenagers basically then. I have so many wonderful memories of the short time we lived near each other. Since then we have met a few times - she came to my wedding, then I saw her in Texas before my brother's wedding.....and we email on and off too - I'm so glad we are still in touch!
I also have one high school friend that I try to see a few times a year - as she is a short drive away. Her name is June and we became stuck like glue senior year of high school and even more the following summer. We went through good times and bad together, figured out a reasonable amount of socializing and the fact that some places we went dancing were not good choices to find future husbands! LOL Eventually we both married and she moved out of town but we still love to get together and reminisce.....I wish I had some recent pics on the computer to share but I don't!

Last movie I've seen

Today's Chalet blog challenge post - I picked the last movie I've seen. I rarely go to the theater anymore except for BIG movies where you wanna see it on the big screen.........so for this summer it had to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix......as the movies go on, it's interesting to see how they choose what to include and not include - the books have gotten progressively bigger as well.......so they did drop a bunch this time......but what was shown was exciting and closely matched (not exactly) the book......I really enjoyed it - loved the final battle scenes! It's a wait now til the last two movies come out but I can be patient! There are lots of other movies I wanna see but can wait for DVD.....

Scrapbook item I couldn't live without

Ok picking from the topic list from the Chalet for today, am going with the scrapbook item I gotta have around me. This is so hard as there are a lot of things I really use on many pages and others i Love but use less often. I think I'd have to go with my paper trimmer tho.....I've been using these for years and I love them - some think they cut crooked but I've rarely had a problem, and if I did it was either an old blade or user error in not keeping the paper lined up....I just love how portable it is and how easy it is to use - love all the measurements listed on it to make it easy to make cuts.........my older "retired" ones go to school and I use them to trim things I need to in my classroom - don't always want to use the giant paper cutters!
So there you have it; I must always have one of these with me when I scrap!

Today's post
First off I changed my video to a beautiful Martina McBride song - no one can belt them out like her - she's in town tomorrow and I'm sad to not be going to her show.....
Ok today's topic from the Chalet: Blog about your scrapbook room........ahh my room - the one room I insisted on painting a special color when we moved in! It's a deep purple, and all my furniture is white......I really like the richness of it. Jeff built me a great L-shaped desk supported by 8 1/2 x 11 file drawers on one side, and 12x12 on the other (now if he'd only put on the drawer fronts years later, sigh.......). He then built me the shelves over the desk based on a pic I'd seen in a catalog at Home Depot. LOVE them - I do need to declutter them a bit tho! Then last Christmas he built me a bookshelf in the final open wall space in the room - finally all my albums easy to access! Here are some pics of my room (it's definitely not this neat now:

Favorite Author

Ok for my next Chalet blog challenge, I picked favorite author as the topic. Of course I'd have to put JK Rowling high on the list for bringing us such a magical world with the Harry Potter series, but for adult books I adore Diana Gabaldon. http://www.dianagabaldon.com/ The book pictured is book 5 of the series. She has written a series of books that I adore. It's the Outlander series and they are amazing. It's basically a love story that crosses time and parts of the world. A nurse in the 1940s steps thru stones in Scotland and gets transported back to the 1740's Scotland. She meets Jamie a young Highlander and they fall in love. Ok so you're thinking, hmm, romance novels, a dime a dozen right? Well not these......her books have unfairly been classified as romance novels, but they are so much more. This woman does her research, whether it's on herbs and medical treatments of the 1700's, or what happened during the Scottish Uprising, on to now they are in the Colonies at the start of the Revolutionary War. Each book is huge, filled with great visual information and detail (ok sometimes the detail may bog you down, but you push through it and it's worth it)........the characters seem so real - flawed but brave - and very funny! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll go "eww" at some of the things Claire deals with as a nurse and later a doctor.....they just wow me - I'm impatiently waiting book 7 just as I was with Harry Potter. Meanwhile I just finished rereading all of them to refresh my memory....if you love to read, and don't mind very long books, I highly recommend them!!!!

Finally scrapping again
Well I did a digital page about my latest favorite photography subject - my nephew Beckett! This is his little family taken on their first swim over at our place - boy did he have fun! Credits: I used Annie Langpap's kit from Two Peas with a birthstone from Tanya
Krasen and the fish came from Janosch.
Krasen and the fish came from Janosch. And to answer a blog challenge from Jozzie at the www.scrapbookchalet.com on my favorite store: I would have to say it's Target. For a discount department store, it's always clean, laid out well, has lots of fun, trendy items at reasonable prices, and really covers all my needs (ok not clothing as my two departments currently are tiny). We are getting one just minutes away from me this fall and I'm so excited! It'll be fun looking at baby things soon!
And on that front, all is well.....next appointment on the 15th where they will draw blood for more testing......then the next one is the big u/s......can't wait for that!
School is coming back soon and I'm torn between excited and sad - to see my summer end which I mostly wasted feeling rotten - but then I have been growing a baby so I guess it's not wasted!
well the challenge is on to blog daily so that is what I plan to do!!!! Jozzie has provided lots of fun blog topics over at the Chalet!
